"what does this mean?"
Why not...
...
meet the development team?
...follow the development process?
We believe our processes help us to maintain our quality of service, to provide
a consistency of approach, and help you to understand how your project will be
progressed. Due to the widely varying nature of the projects we undertake,
this structure provides our outline and guide, but specific methods and plans
are selected as appropriate to ensure we are not constrained by the rigidity of
a one-size-fits-all solution.
face-to-face: The first stage is always a face-to-face meeting to discuss
your requirements, deadline limitations, budgets and software - and to give you
a chance to meet the developers. After this we are usually in a position to
provide you with an outline proposal, including cost and time estimates.
requirement specification: We understand that it is difficult for a
non-technical person to specify detailed requirements, as they are unable to
visualise how such automation will work. The tendency is often to 'require' the
new application to mirror the existing process that the organisation has in
place. Where the existing system is manual, this form of specification will
probably duplicate the current inefficiencies and will not take into account the
benefits that automation could offer.
