I never knew a spreadsheet could do that: Excel in Excel!
Aiming to provide overview of Microsoft Excel you will gain an understanding not only of the basic features of the package but will have the chance to see a live demonstration of its advanced features. You will learn how Excel can and is used to manipulate and analyse data. In the second part of the session you will have a go at creating a budgeting spreadsheet for yourself.


Why would I need a database? Get into Access
Demonstrating how Access can be used to fully automate office activities this session will enhance users' understanding of what a database can actually do. From taking bookings to processing income and expenditure - a database can be more than just a fancy filing system. There will be an opportunity for delegates to have a go at using and adding to a ready-made database.


More than just a slide show: PowerPoint at its best
Using graphics and animations this session will demonstrate how the presentation package can be used to create fun, lively and/or professional presentations. You then work together to create a slide presentation with sound, animations and graphics.


Using the Internet: the World at Your Finger Tips
Learn what is meant by: the Internet, the World-Wide-Web, ISPs, search engines and user groups. Learn to Google and Yahoo. Be taken on a tour of New York, Paris and Sydney via Tescos and B&Q. Learn about email and set-up your own web mail account. Ideal for those new to surfing.


Back to Basics: what every PC user needs to know (but often only finds out the hard way!)
This session will inform you how to keep your PC running efficiently. It will introduce you to: the basics of PC "housekeeping"; what you need to know when installing and uninstalling software; why PCs crash and crash management. The course will help you to find out the things you need to know but just don't know who to ask.
